Electromagnetic flowmeters (EMF) are the perfect flowmeters for measuring all electrical conductive liquids, almost independent of pressure, density, temperature, and viscosity.
The electromagnetic flowmeters are suitable, for example, for measuring water, wastewater, slurries, pastes, slurries, acids, alkalis, solvents, or juices. Typical applications are the detection and monitoring of continuous flow rates or the filling and dosing of liquids.
- Flow velosity range: 0.1 m/sec to 10 m/sec
- Standard - nominal sizes: DN6 to DN1200 / 1/4" to 48" (nominal sizes up to DN2000 on request)
- Flow range from 0.15 litres/minute up to 40700 m³/hour
- Measuring accuracy: ± 0.2% of reading
- Repeatability: ± 0.1% accuracy
- High pressure versions up to 100 bar available

- Bi-directional flow measurement of liquids with a conductivity > 5 µS/cm

Electromagnetic flowmeters are based on Faraday's law of induction. Two opposing electrodes are positioned internally at three and nine o'clock. When the liquid moves through the magnetic field, a voltage is induced at the electrodes. The average velocity of the liquid is proportional to the induced voltage measured by the electrodes (measuring of the flow velocity)
