Impeller Meter
The impeller meters / impeller flow meters are a cost-effective alternative to measure and monitor flows in large pipelines. The easy installation and the low price are the most important arguments for this measuring principle.
Typical applications are the measurement of liquids with low viscosity such as water, wastewater, or fuels.
- Installation in pipelines from 1.5" (DN40) up to 100" (DN2500)
- Flow velocity range from 1 - 10 meters/second
- Linearity: ± 1.5% of reading
- Temperature range: -40 °C up to 150 °C
- Operating pressure up to 80 bar
- Body material: stainless steel
- Rotor: PVDF or PEEK
- Also for use in ATEX & IECEx and Intrinsically Safe (IS), with appropriate power supply
- Protection class IP68 (NEMA 6), suitable for installation directly in the earth.
The liquid flow turns the impeller. The speed of the impeller is directly related to the speed of the liquid. The impeller revolutions are detected and a low impedance square wave signal is transmitted via a non-magnetic sensor tap at a frequency proportional to the flow rate.
Velosity is translated into flow.
