OVAL GEAR METER
The oval gear meters are highly precise mechanical flow meters. The robust measuring principle can measure the flow of a variety of clean low and high viscosity liquids.
The stainless steel and plastic versions are suitable for measuring most water-based liquids and chemicals, as well as additives, paints, varnishes, or adhesives.
The aluminum meters are suitable for measuring fuels, fuel oil, mineral oils, hydraulic oils, solvents, brake fluids, coolants, gear oils and lubricating fluids, and more.
How does an
oval gear meter work?
- Meter sizes from DN6 (1/8") up to DN100 (4"), with thread connection, DIN and ANSI flanges
- Flow range from 0.017 litres/minute up to 2500 litres/minute
- Measuring accuracy: ± 0.5% of reading
- Meter materials: aluminium, stainless steel, PPS and PVC
- High pressure versions up to 400 bar available
- Suitable for measuring low and high viscosity media of up to 500.000 mPas
- Electronics from Fluidwell and STIX Durchflussmesstechnik can be connected
- Specific Meter versions for use in ATEX & IECEx, and Intrinsically Safe (IS) areas
The oval gear meters / oval gear flow meters are direct volume meters. Their measuring element consists of two toothed oval gears. Through this, a certain amount of liquid is transported through the flow meter with each rotation of the oval gears. With each rotation, the oval gears transport four partial volumes (delimited between the oval gear and the measuring chamber). The number of rotations is an exact measure of the volume that has flowed through.
For measurement, the rotary movement of the oval gear wheels is transmitted via magnets to a pulse generator or a display.
