Ultrasonic Doppler

Flow Meter

Ultrasonic Doppler flow meters enable reliable, non-contact measurement of volumetric flow without interfering with the process. Thanks to clamp-on technology, installation is quick and does not require any process interruption. Ultrasonic Doppler flow meters are particularly well-suited for liquids such as process water containing solids or gas bubbles, slurries and sewage sludge, pulp and paper fiber suspensions, lyes, sand-water mixtures, chemicals containing solids, and wastewater.

Features

How does an Ultrasonic

Doppler Flow Meter?

Attributes

  • Precise flow measurement using ultrasonic Doppler technology for flumes, and partially filled pipes
  • Wide flow velocity measurement range from approx. ±0.03 m/s to 12.2 m/s – suitable for virtually all applications
  • High measurement accuracy and repeatability (up to ±2%, reproducibility ±0.1%, linearity ±0.5%)
  • Adaptive signal processing with signal quality monitoring for stable and valid measurement results
  • Robust, fully encapsulated sensor technology (IP68) – ideal for continuous use in wastewater and industrial applications
  • Flexible system integration via RS485 / Modbus as well as analog and digital outputs
  • Integrated data logger with high storage capacity for long-term process monitoring and analysis
  • Quick startup and easy configuration via the integrated display and control panel

Ultrasonic Doppler flow measurement is a proven method for measuring flow in open channels, flumes, and partially filled pipes.

A sensor emits ultrasonic waves that are reflected by particles in the medium. The flow velocity is determined using the Doppler effect, while the level is measured simultaneously.

The system uses both values to precisely calculate the flow rate and total volume.

Ideal for wastewater, contaminated media, and industrial applications — reliable even under fluctuating conditions.

  • Enhanced performance
  • Easy to install and configure
  • Non-Contacting, clamp-on, ultrasonic sensor
  • Works on a large variety of pipe materials and sizes
  • Integrated data logger with high storage capacity for long-term process monitoring and evaluation
  • Quick commissioning and easy parameterization via integrated display and control panel

Vortex flowmeters are high-precision measuring devices and are suitable for measuring liquids, gases and steams in a wide temperature range. Vortex flowmeters are ideal for measuring low-viscosity liquids and for direct flow measurement of the steam.

Vortex flowmeters can measure a wide variety of media in the chemical, petrochemical, energy and heat supply industries. These include saturated steam, superheated steam, compressed air, nitrogen, liquid gases, flue gases, carbon dioxide, demineralised water, solvents, heat transfer oils, boiler feed water or condensates.
